1st International Conference on Life and Earth Sciences for Sustainable Development (ICLESSD-2025)
Shifting towards a sustainable world: Role of life and earth sciences
The global pursuit of sustainability demands an interdisciplinary approach, integrating life and earth sciences to address environmental health, human well-being, and technological innovation. Climate change, biodiversity loss, and food insecurity require collaborative solutions. The 1st International Conference on Life and Earth Sciences for Sustainable Development (ICLESSD-2025), hosted by the Faculty of Life and Earth Sciences at Jagannath University, will take place on December 4-5, 2025, bringing together global experts to share strategies for a sustainable future.
ICLESSD-2025 will leverage eight disciplines of the faculty to tackle sustainability challenges. Biodiversity loss and environmental degradation necessitate innovative technologies for pollution control and the preservation of ecosystems. The human microbiome influences immunity and antimicrobial resistance, while precision therapeutics and emerging technologies, such as AI, genomics, and CRISPR, advance diagnostics and environmental monitoring. Plant biotechnology enhances crop resilience and food security, while animal science promotes sustainable livestock practices and the prevention of zoonotic diseases.
The conference fosters cross-disciplinary collaboration, spotlighting transformative research that promotes an ecologically balanced and sustainable future.
